Pub Drinker hit on head by TV wins £6,000 payout
Paul Wood was sitting in his local pub, enjoying a pint and watching the wall-mounted television above, when it went on the blink. As the landlord was fiddling with the connections at the back of the set the television fell from the wall hitting Mr Wood on the head. Mr Wood said: “I had a bad bruise on the top of my head but the force of the impact caused a trapped nerve in my neck. I was in a lot of pain for 6 months and have been left with permanent neck problems.” Paul took his claim for personal injury to Rapid Solicitors. A spokesperson for Rapid said “The facts of the incident were relatively straightforward and so liability was never going to be an issue. Mr Wood’s compensation was negotiated based on the strength of our medical evidence. We have extensive experience in head and neck injury claims and so we were able to obtain a very good settlement for him.” Mr Wood said: “I’m thankful to Rapid Solicitors who did a very good job for me. I was glad that they managed to win my claim without going to court.”
