Less than one year after fighting for his life ... Stuart Easton returns to ride for Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki
The 28-year-old Scotsman will return to action in this year’s British Superbike championship following a serious crash last year in one of the world’s premier road races, the North West 200. Stuart teams up again with Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki principal Paul Bird, with whom he won the 2002 British Supersport Championship. Stuart has enjoyed many successes throughout his career including three Macau, China GP victories, one of which was for Paul Bird in 2010. After winning his first BSB race in 2009 at the Croft circuit, he saw his 2010 season blighted by a recurring injury. However, after a great start to the 2011 season aboard the Kawasaki, he suffered life-threatening injuries in an horrific crash, watched by TV audiences worldwide. Stuart is expected to be testing the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki at various Spanish circuits over the next few weeks and is working heavily on his fitness. Andrew Baldwin from Rapid said, “To survive a crash like this and then have the mental strength to want to compete at the top level so soon after, shows the type of racer we’ve recruited for this year’s challenge for silverware. He’s a proven winner at the top level and I’m certain we’ll be seeing Stuart grinning from the podium this year. The lad is an inspiration to any sportsperson coming back from serious injury.”.
